W.O.E. Submersible Wrist Compass 2.0

ONE PER PERSON/ORDER

Updated for 2026, the W.O.E. Submersible Wrist Compass now features a slightly slimmer profile and refinements to the integrated compass module, further enhancing wearability and performance while maintaining its proven design.

The W.O.E. Submersible Wrist Compass is a capable tool that also honors the heritage of our community, providing a custom dial with C3 Super-LumiNova, a grade two titanium case, individual water resistance testing to 100 meters, and slim 24.5mm wide by 12mm thick dimensions.

At W.O.E., we often discuss the importance of timekeeping in operational scenarios, but navigation is another equally critical element. The archetypal image of the Vietnam-Era SEAL or a MACV-SOG operator almost always includes not only a legendary tool watch but also a wrist compass, worn on the same strap. Like watches, wrist compasses are a part of the culture of our community.

The W.O.E. Submersible Wrist Compass is the direct result of over two years of prototyping and extensive testing by divers and SpecOps personnel, a capable tool ready to accompany your most rugged watches.

We created a custom dial inspired by the Waltham/W.C.C. compasses worn and used by Special Operators during the Vietnam War. The indices are straightforward and clean, with an oversized arrow to represent north, rectangles for the other cardinal points, and subtle grey-on-black W.O.E. text at six.

Legibility in underwater scenarios and at night is key to our design. To achieve the brightest possible glow, we procured Swiss-made Super-LumiNova C3 for our custom dials, representing the first time this premium material has been used in a strap compass.

The case is constructed of grade two titanium for its antimagnetic and lightweight properties. The low profile design was achieved by making the entire top surface domed and eliminating unnecessary height from the case. With an overall height of 12 millimeters, only approximately 9 millimeters sit above the strap, thinner than the vast majority of dive watches.

The diameter is also restrained, measuring 24.5 millimeters, smaller than other commercially available compasses. The 20 and 22mm variants are the same size, with the 22mm version differing only in the size of its strap opening. The compass itself measures 20mm in diameter and is held within the case by a screw-down lockring that is secured to a specific torque spec at the factory. We do not recommend unscrewing the lockring. Thanks to an inner bushing, our compass is rattle-free.

The 1.5-millimeter strap opening was designed to fit our Five Eyes Nylon Straps or Z.A. Straps single pass collaborations and will not fit thicker straps. While the compass can technically be installed on the Glomar Explorer and Commando straps, we do not recommend it as the installation process can damage the straps. The underside of the case is engraved with the compass’s specifications and the W.O.E. Spearhead.

Each W.O.E. Submersible Wrist Compass is individually tested to its full 100-meter water resistance rating. Being oil-filled also naturally prevents the intrusion of water. Each stage of prototyping as well as final production models have also been tested extensively by maritime special operations forces to ensure our compass lives up to our Use Your Tools ethos.

As a note, this wrist compass, like any compass this size, is intended for general wayfinding only and should not be used for orienteering or navigational purposes.

In addition, this compass, like any oil-filled compass, may develop tiny bubbles that appear and disappear over time depending on the external temperature and pressure. These bubbles do not hamper the function or accuracy of the compass in any way.

*Watches, coins, and other items are not included.
