Glomar Explorer - Hook And Loop Watch Strap
Modeled off the traditional hook-and-loop dive watch strap, the Glomar Explorer is a premium single-pass adjustable adventure strap for those who use their watches as tools.
Glomar Explorer Standard: Ideal for wrist sizes between 6.5 - 8 inches (16.5 - 20 centimeters)
Glomar Explorer Short: Ideal for wrist sizes between 5.5 - 6.5 inches (14 - 16.5 centimeters).
* Sizing can vary depending on the watch and how tightly you wear the strap. The 22mm Glomar Explorers (both Standard and Short) typically wear shorter than the 20mm versions because of the longer lug-to-lug lengths often found on watches with 22mm lugs.*
We developed an ultra-thin custom matte weave nylon construction, a custom 316L stainless steel engraved buckle, and a snug strap keeper to ensure the watch remains secure on your wrist. Currently available in a single length, black, OG Green and admiralty grey. *Please note we have tightened the strap keeper from the initial version, to create a more snug fit.
We set out to create a premium “hook and loop” watch strap, something that many consider an oxymoron. After many iterations over a six-month period, we finally came up with the design of the Glomar Exp. The strap name is derived from USNS Hughes Glomar Explorer, a deep-sea drillship platform that was used by the CIA to recover a Soviet submarine K-129 in the Pacific Ocean in 1974.
While this is, in theory, a “dive strap,” it is really an adventure strap, made for an active lifestyle and movement where you want to ensure the watch remains fastened to your wrist. Similar to the FIVE EYE, the single-pass nature of the strap mitigates spring bar failure.
Please note, that while this strap will work with most fixed spring bar watches (including CWC SBS), we highly recommend removing the spring bars for installation to promote the longevity of the hook and loop material. Do not force the strap through the spring bars as this could damage the watch and/or strap.
